Artist's Comments

Haven't had much to upload here in a while mainly because I been using all my pixelling time on my game projects such as my retro game ya see here known as Hero - Celestial Force. Already posted a pic of this game a while ago but that image is now very much out of date so here's some brand new shots from the first level. These are real shots, not mock ups, so the game is playable but I still got a long way to go before even level 1 is complete. Enjoying the heck out of making it though =)

And yeah it's still mostly inspired by the NES and uses a custom palette from one of the NES emulators (and has an original NSF soundtrack), but not the actual NES graphic limitations, so I guess the graphic style is somewhere between NES and SNES now. Maybe call it NES Plus. =P

From the PixelArt Gallery, Hero - CF screenshots by ~Amon-Devilman. This is not a mockup, this is a real game in the process of being created. Great vibrancy of the palette and fine pixel work gives this a real appeal. Colour count 36 (Featured by `ShoneGold)

ROCK ON! :horns:

Hmm... looks very nice. From the Screen I can assume the game supports a second player. Can the 2nd Player join and leave the game any time, or has the 2nd Player stay once he or she joined the game?

Looks pretty cool. I'm interested in seeing how it all comes out.

Nobody really cares so shuffle your ideals elsewhere, Thank you

Thanks.

Yes it supports two player though I haven't fully coded the other player yet (or fully sprited it, it's not a recolor of player 1, but an all new sprite based on a similar template). Once I've done that part and actually put that player in, I'll experiment and see which feels best. It's unlikely to be able to leave and allow CPU to take over such as in games like X-Men Legends or Secret of Mana, mainly because I don't want to deal with the AI for that. It's likely that if the second player wishes to leave without dying they may use the save capsule to go into 'stasis' and rejoin later on. Though I'll have to be sure players can't just cheat using it.

New place is ok. Apartment itself is much better and all new. Couple annoying neighbors but overall it's much improved over the old place.

So what are the enemies like?

I just noticed something. You have super powers. That is so cool. Can you fly?

There's one enemy in those shots. The green sorta lizardy trooper with the gun on his back. Currently he just walks back and forth and doesn't actually shoot yet. That's on my to-do list. Haven't yet pixelled many other enemies in a usable state, though I do have some I can polish off and include. Others I've done rough sketch ideas in my folder.
